Evy Quadtec Brush 53mm

A 53mm round brush for blow-drying, and the widest barrel Evy makes in the Quad-Tec range. Barrel diameter does most of the work: the wider it is, the softer the bend it leaves and the more the section is stretched straight as it dries. At 53mm this is a smoothing and body brush, not a curling one.

What the four features do

• Carbon and ceramic coated barrel — holds heat under the dryer, which Evy says gives faster drying and styling.
• Concave vented barrel — the waisted shape holds tension on the section for volume or smoothing, and the vents let air through the middle of it.
• Twisted nylon bristles — grip the section without slipping, and massage the scalp as you lift at the root.
• Mineral-infused bristles — Evy states these emit ionic energy to cut static and fly-aways.

How to use it

Take sections no deeper than the barrel is wide, keep the dryer nozzle following the brush down the length, and let the section cool on the barrel before sliding it out. That last part sets the shape.

Who it's for

Mid-length to long hair and bigger blow-dry shapes. On a bob or shorter there isn't enough length to wrap a 53mm barrel — the 25mm, 33mm and 43mm Quad-Tec brushes cover those.
