Evy The Boss Silencer

A small part that swaps in where the filter sits on Evy's BOSS dryer, using its shape to break up the sound waves the motor throws back out of the intake. It is aimed squarely at salons, where a dryer runs most of the day at head height and the noise is the thing that makes conversation across the chair hard work.

The build

• Replaces the filter — it is not an add-on; the standard filter comes off and this goes on in its place.
• Light and small — it adds effectively nothing to how the dryer sits in the hand.
• Tool-free fitting — Evy describes it as easy to install, the same twist-off, twist-on as the filter it replaces.

Worth knowing

Evy does not publish a decibel figure for it, so treat the quieting as noticeable rather than measured. Because it sits in the filter's place, it collects the same lint the filter would — clear it regularly, or you trade noise for a restricted intake and a hot motor. Check it suits your BOSS model before ordering; Evy has run more than one generation of this dryer.
