King Brown Grooming Spray 177ml

A water-based styling mist that can play three different roles, which is what makes it worth the shelf space: a pre-styler under pomade, a standalone texturiser, or a top coat over pomade to extend hold. Comparable to a salt spray in what it does to texture, without the gritty, roughed-up feel.

What's in it

• Octylacrylamide/acrylates copolymer — the film-forming resin that provides the hold and the grip.
• Water base — the first ingredient, so it rinses out with a normal shampoo and does not build up.
• Polysorbate 20 — keeps the formula evenly dispersed so the spray lands consistently.

How to use it

Three ways. Blow-dry it into damp hair as a pre-styler to build shape and volume before pomade. Use it alone on damp or dry hair for a natural matte texture. Or spray it over a light to medium hold pomade to tighten up control and make the style last.

Who it's for

Most hair types and lengths — it adds body to fine hair and definition to thicker hair. The finish is matte and the hold is light, so treat it as a foundation and a finisher rather than the whole style.
