King Brown Matte Pomade 75g

The most versatile of the King Brown pomades — a true matte finish with no shine at all, and enough hold to handle textured, natural and classic matte styles alike. It is a hybrid rather than a straight water or oil formula, which is what lets it hold like a wax but wash out closer to a cream.

What's in it

• Kaolin clay — the mattifier; it absorbs oil and creates the dry, textured finish.
• Beeswax, carnauba wax and ozokerite — the wax structure providing hold and pliability.
• Petrolatum with a water phase — the hybrid base, giving durability with easier removal than an oil-only pomade.

How to use it

Warm a small amount thoroughly between your palms, then work through dry or slightly damp hair. Fingers for texture, comb for definition. Build up in small amounts rather than starting heavy.

Worth knowing

It typically washes out in one to two shampoos, but as a hybrid it can still build up across consecutive days — use less on day two and three. Zero shine, so if you want any sheen at all this is the wrong one; look at the Cream or Original pomade.
