A leave-on AHA lotion from La Biosthétique's Méthode Clarifiante, applied with a cotton pad rather than scrubbed in. It is a chemical exfoliant, so it loosens dead surface cells rather than sanding them off — gentler on congested, blemish-prone skin than a physical scrub, which tends to aggravate what it is meant to clear.

The actives

  • Fruit-derived AHAs — from bilberry, sugar cane, orange, lemon and sugar maple.
  • Allantoin — softens and calms.
  • Dipotassium glycyrrhizinate — from liquorice root, to keep the acid step comfortable.

How to use it

After cleansing, sweep it over the face and neck with a cotton pad, keeping clear of the eye area. Do not rinse it off. Once or twice a week is enough — and start at once a week if your skin is reactive.

Worth knowing

100 mL. Use it in the evening and build the frequency up slowly rather than all at once. Don't layer it with retinoids or another acid on the same night, and stop if skin stings or stays red. It replaces the discontinued Visalix Clarifiant.

Apply as directed on product packaging.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Is it a scrub?

A. No. It is a chemical exfoliant, applied with a cotton pad and left on. Fruit-derived AHAs loosen dead surface cells rather than sanding them off, which is gentler on congested skin than a physical scrub.

Q. How often should I use it?

A. Once or twice a week, in the evening. Start at once a week if your skin is reactive and build the frequency up slowly rather than all at once.

Q. Can I use it with retinol or another acid?

A. Not on the same night. Layering it with a retinoid or a second acid is what tips skin into stinging or lasting redness, and you should stop using it if that happens.
