A 30ml essential-oil concentrate from Méthode Hydratante, the La Biosthétique line built around dry scalps. It comes with a pipette and is worked into the skin rather than through the hair, which makes it a small addition to a routine you already have rather than a replacement for anything in it.

What's in it

• Borage oil — supports the skin's barrier layer and helps hold moisture where the scalp feels tight.
• Carrot seed — a rich oil used on dry, flaky skin.
• Parsley seed — antioxidant.
• Bergamot — the bright top note, and where the lift in the scent comes from.

How to use it

Apply one to one and a half pipettes — roughly 1ml — directly onto the scalp, working along the partings so it reaches skin. Massage in with the fingertips and leave it; it is not rinsed out. Give the massage a minute or two rather than rushing it.

Worth knowing
