LA BIOSTHETIQUE Restoring Oil RT 15ml

A 15 ml pre-wash oil from Méthode Hydratante, La Biosthétique's dry-scalp range. Unlike a hair oil, this one goes on the scalp itself and comes off in the wash, so it works as a periodic treatment step rather than something you leave in.

The actives

• Borage and cacay oils — both high in linolenic acid, which is what the scalp's own barrier lipids are built from.
• Phytosterols — plant molecules that bind moisture and support barrier repair.
• Vitamins E and F — lipid-soluble components that strengthen the oil film.
• Ceramides — skin lipids that help the barrier hold water rather than lose it.

How to use it

Part the hair and apply along the partings before washing, massage in gently, and leave for 10 to 15 minutes. La Biosthétique also allows an overnight application when the scalp is very dry. Add a little water and massage again before shampooing — that emulsifies the oil so it rinses out cleanly instead of needing two washes.

Worth knowing

15 ml sounds small, but applied by partings a treatment uses very little. This is cosmetic scalp care for dryness and tightness — persistent flaking, soreness or sudden hair loss is worth taking to a GP or dermatologist.
