Microtexx Reconstructive Masque 250ml

The Sunday-night treatment for hair that has been over-processed and now feels rough and brittle at the ends. This is the 250ml home size — enough for roughly a season of weekly use on mid-length hair, which is the frequency the formula is built around.

The actives

• Hydrolysed keratin protein — the reinforcing ingredient, small enough to sit in the porous sections of the fibre.
• Jojoba oil, oleyl erucate and cetyl palmitate — emollients behind the masque's thick, slippery feel.
• Allantoin, aloe leaf juice and vitamin E acetate — conditioning and soothing agents.
• Herbal infusion — balm mint, juniper, pine leaf, gentian root, St John's wort, arnica, red clover and alfalfa.

How to use it

Squeeze the water out with a towel before you apply — a soaking head dilutes the treatment and wastes it. Comb it through the mid-lengths and ends, leave it five to ten minutes, then rinse thoroughly.

Worth knowing

Once a week, not every wash. Protein treatments can tip hair from soft to stiff if overused, so alternate with the conditioning milk from whichever Microtexx system you are on. The 1000ml with pump is the same formula for salons and heavy users.
