The problem with dry shampoo on dark hair is residue: rice starch is white, and on brown to near-black hair it reads as dust at the roots. This Dry Queen carries iron oxide pigments so the powder disappears into medium through to dark brown, doing the same oil-absorbing and root-lifting job without the tell.

• Rice starch (Oryza sativa) — the absorbent that takes up oil at the root.
• Iron oxides (CI 77491, 77492, 77499) — the brown pigments that tint the powder to blend into darker hair.
• Silica and disteardimonium hectorite — texture and body alongside the absorbency.
• Quandong and lilly pilly fruit extracts — native Australian fruit extracts.

How to use it

The 20–30cm distance matters: closer and you get a concentrated deposit that is hard to blend. Spray in short bursts across parted sections, wait a moment for the starch to take up the oil, then massage in and brush through. Skipping that pause is the usual reason dry shampoo looks patchy.

Who it's for

Medium brown to dark brown hair. On blonde, red or grey the tint will show, so use the untinted O&M Dry Queen instead. It suits fine hair, where the root lift is as useful as the cleansing.
