LA BIOSTHETIQUE Heat Protecting Spray RT 100ml (was Heat Protector)

A 100ml spray that goes on before the heat does — the step between the towel and the dryer, and between the brush and the straightener.

How to use it

Before blow-drying, spray section by section through damp hair so the whole head is covered rather than just the top layer. Before straightening, spray into dry hair, again in sections, and give it a moment to settle before the plates go on.

What's in it

• Bisabolol from camomile — a gentle conditioning ingredient that helps keep hair from drying out.
• A styling copolymer — what holds the smooth shape once heat has set it.
• Silicones — cyclopentasiloxane and phenyl trimethicone among them, for slip, shine and a film between the hair and the heat.
• Denatured alcohol — makes it dry down fast, so it is not adding water back into hair you are about to straighten.

Worth knowing

It contains silicones, so it will not suit a strictly silicone-free routine — several other La Biosthétique lines are silicone-free if that matters to you. It is a protecting and smoothing spray rather than a hold product, so it layers under whatever you finish with. Formerly sold as Heat Protector.
