The 250ml wash in the Icy Crystal .07 .LV set from La Biosthétique's Glam+Colour range. Sulphate-free and silicone-free, it is built to clean without stripping the colour it is meant to be looking after, and the neutralising effect builds over successive washes rather than arriving all at once.

What's in it

• Direct violet pigments — deposit a small amount of tone with every wash.
• Panthenol (vitamin B5) — moisture and strength.
• Polyphosphate — binds the metallic deposits hard water leaves behind in blonde hair.
• Cationic starch — improves combability.

How to use it

Apply evenly to damp hair, lather, then rinse thoroughly, repeating if the hair was heavily coated. Follow with the matching conditioner, and bring in the mask when the tone needs a bigger correction.

Worth knowing

The pigment load is set for regular washing rather than long processing, so it is a maintenance product, not a one-hit toner. If your water is hard, the polyphosphate is doing quiet work — metal build-up is a common reason blonde turns dull.
